Samidoh said he can't forget where he came from.

Mugithi musician Samuel Muchoki popularly known as Samidoh has announced his interest to vie for Ol Joro Orok MP seat in 2027.

Samidoh announced on Wednesday that he was humbled to offer his candidature for the position of Member of Parliament for Ol Joro Orok Constituency in Nyandarua County.

"I am a son of Ol Joro Orok. This is home. This is where my journey began," he said in a post on his official Facebook account.

He clarified that his story is not one of privilege because he was orphaned at a young age, and like many children who grow up facing difficult circumstances, he could have easily given up.

"I kept moving. Through determination, faith and hard work, I rose through the ranks and built a life that I could once only imagine," he said.

Samidoh served as a police officer and later ventured into music, which made him a household name and through music he travelled across Kenya and beyond.

While his professional journey has taken him from the villages of Ol Joro Orok to stages across various parts of Kenya and around the world, he said he can't forget where he came from.

He stated that he understands the plight of people of Ol Joro Orok and sees his candidature as a way to come back and easily help solve their problems in the most noble way possible.

Samidoh is not new to politics because he has in the past worked closely with nominated Senator Karen Nyamu with whom they are blessed with children.

Samidoh's wife relocated to the US in a move that shocked Kenyans with a section claiming that the cause was troubled marriage life.

However, the musician has managed to stay focused and maintains good relations with both Senator Nyamu and his wife.
