Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has taken the war with the County Assembly to various MCAs' doorsteps in her development tour of the County.
On Friday, the Governor accompanied by her Deputy Francis Mwangangi toured Mitaboni Ward where she paraded aspirants for the Ward seat including Mr Richard Mutua Mutisya who said he was out to sweep clean the Mitaboni/Mathunya Ward and pronounced a curse on MCAs who had been opposing governor Wavinya.
Mutisya said the residents made a mistake in the previous election by electing current MCA on UDA ticket and urged them to correct the mistake in 2027.
"I want to curse MCAs who have been causing trouble to our Governor after being sponsored by UDA. May they never sire kids with their wives because we do not want the seeds of traitors in our midst,"said Mutisya.
The current MCA for Mitaboni is Mr Philip Ndolo 'kitoo'(UDA).
Speaking in Mitaboni, Governor Wavinya said the budget stalemate at the County Assembly was designed to sabbotage her government so that the MCAs can use it to paint her as a failure.
He warned the people to be aware of the plot and subject the MCAs to accountability when they come campaigning at the grassroots.
"Our people in Mitaboni,I ask you to tell your MCA to go pass the budget if he loves you. Tell him to stop sabbotage,"said Wavinya.
She said the same people who opposed her in the previous elections had regrouped to hold her hostage but will not succeed.
Governor Wavinya urged the people to stand firm and support Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the Presidency in 2027.
Roads CECM Nathaniel Nganga said the MCAs were acting under instructions from State House to derail the Machakos County government since governor Wavinya was a strong pillar for Kalonzo Musyoka's Presidential bid.
"The MCAs were called to State house and instructed on how to sabbotage the County government of Machakos which is led by a Wiper governor. They want to divide our people and plant doubt among us,"said Mr Nganga.
Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi took a swipe at UDA Governor aspirant for the Machakos seat Mr Nzioka Waita saying he had done nothing for the residents of Machakos while serving as top Safaricom boss and later as State House Chief of Staff in President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
"Waita had been with Uhuru Kenyatta for 10 years and before that he was with Safaricom. What project did he initiate in Kathiani? What has he done for Machakos even in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility?" posed Mr Mwangangi.
During the tour, Governor Wavinya launched the upgrading of the 4-kilometre Syauni-King'ong'oi Road expected to open up the rural economy, connecting Thinu to Mitaboni for agricultural activities including Coffee, avocado, Macadamia and Bananas.
She also inspected ongoing works at Mitaboni Level 3 Hospital and inspected Kwa Kathuku Dam before culminating her tour with the inspection of electrification project to 240 households at Mumbuni.
The Governor is expected to tour other sub-counties in the coming days.
