The DP further urged politicians to observe respect and be patriotic, so as to cultivate peace throughout the country.

"Let all of us resist situations which causes violence in politics. Let us embrace of playing peaceful politics. We do not want situations where one turns against his brothers or close relatives. We all need each other" he said.

"Politicians too need to play their politics with respect. Anyone who comes to our regions, villages and estates, let us listen to them. Let them to come and tell us their vision and leave us in peace " he said.

He was speaking at Banana town in Kiambaa constituency, where he held an inspection of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Karuri campus.

The KMTC Karuri Campus project will cost Sh 200 Million to build the administration and tuition blocks, library facilities and laboratories.

Prof Kindiki told politicians and residents of Mt Kenya region to observe peace saying it can be possible since it had witnessed other two occasions where it produced two presidential candidates, and peace prevailed.

He pointed out that in 1992, the late Kenneth Matiba competed with former president the late Mwai Kibaki but they lost to retired president the late Daniel arap Moi and there was peace.

The DP also noted that, in 2002, former President the late Mwai Kibaki competed with retired president Uhuru Kenyatta and there was peace throughout the country, adding that locals should also cultivate and preach peace for the sake of the prosperity of this country.

"Let us remember our Mountain. It has witnessed strong presidential candidates and there was peace. Today, we should cultivate for peace since we all need this country, today, tomorrow some days and years to come" he urged.
