Smart Applications International has launched Smart PharmaLink, a digital pharmacy management platform aimed at improving efficiency and accelerating digital transformation across Kenya's pharmacy sector.

The platform was unveiled during the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association Annual Scientific Conference in Mombasa, bringing together pharmacists, healthcare professionals, policymakers, regulators and industry leaders to discuss the future of pharmaceutical practice.

The solution enables pharmacies to digitise patient management, prescription processing, inventory control, procurement, dispensing, billing and reporting through a single integrated platform.

Speaking during the launch, Smart Applications International Group Director for Hospital Business Esther Macharia said pharmacies require digital tools that improve service delivery and patient care.

"Smart PharmaLink supports pharmacists in delivering safer, faster and more efficient healthcare services," she said.

The company said the platform provides real-time reporting and business analytics, helping pharmacies improve inventory management, reduce stock losses, strengthen regulatory compliance and make informed decisions.

Macharia said the platform is part of the company's vision to build connected healthcare systems that improve medicine management, continuity of care and support Universal Health Coverage.

Speaking at the event, Smart Applications International Group Managing Director Harrison Muiru said digital solutions are key to strengthening healthcare systems.

"Smart PharmaLink strengthens healthcare systems, improves operational efficiency and allows healthcare professionals to focus on delivering quality care to patients," he said.

Smart Applications International said the launch reinforces its investment in digital health solutions across Africa, including biometric identity, hospital information systems, healthcare analytics, artificial intelligence and claims management.
