KCB and Mwamba RFC have provided the bulk of players to Kenya’s provisional national rugby sevens squads, with KCB dominating the men’s Kenya Shujaa selections and Mwamba leading the way for the Kenya Lionesses ahead of the Safari Sevens set for October 9-11, 2026.

Shujaa and Lionesses have assembled a mix of experienced internationals and emerging talent as they begin preparations for the 2026-2027 season. The players are scheduled to report for training on Thursday, September 16, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

The training camp will allow the technical teams to assess the players, refine tactical approaches and build cohesion ahead of the season’s assignments.

KRU explained that the selection reflects recent performances, form, fitness and contribution to the national Sevens programme, while also providing a pathway for emerging players to progress to the highest level.

With Shujaa and Lionesses defending their Safari Sevens crowns, the Nairobi camp will offer the first opportunity for the technical teams to shape squads capable of retaining the titles on home soil.
