Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has read the riot act to men impregnating school girls in his constituency, calling for their immediate arrest.
The MP lamented that nine girls at a school in Kyeleni Ward are currently pregnant and asked the Area Chief, Assistant Chief and village elders to find the culprits behind the pregnancies by end of the week.
"If you are a man and cannot zip up, you will be arrested. By the end of this week, I want to know the men who have impregnated schoolgirls in Kyeleni," said Mr Mule, who is also a medical doctor.
He asked the area Base Commander to ensure those named in relation to the vice are arrested and put behind bars.
"Base Commander is here. If a Chief informs you about a person who has impregnated a school girl, arrest that man and ensure he is jailed," the MP said.
Turning to parents, Mr Mule said it was not a laughing matter and asked mothers to tell their daughters not to give in to irresponsible sex behaviour.
Dr Mule said St John Katulye, where nine girls are allegedly pregnant, was just one school among many adding that the vice could be rampant.
"If you know you have impregnated a school girl, start migrating before I come for you. It is a shame and painful and this is just one school," Dr Mule warned.
He urged the community to protect the future of the young girls as teenage pregnancies would ruin their education.
Mr Mule spoke on Thursday during a burial ceremony of the late Pius Mutonga Kilonzo in Mililu, Kyeleni Ward in Matungulu constituency.
