TECNO has unveiled a concept smartphone featuring what it describes as an industry-first 0mm display border, eliminating the visible black edges traditionally seen around smartphone screens.
The Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone was showcased at IFA ShowStoppers 2026 in Berlin as the Chinese technology company demonstrated its latest innovations in smartphones, laptops and connected devices.
The concept device is designed to make the display appear to extend directly to the outer frame, creating a near edge-to-edge viewing experience.
TECNO says achieving the design required a re-engineering of the phone’s display architecture, including changes to internal stacking, structural engineering and screen-packaging techniques.
The company says the approach is intended to deliver a more immersive experience when watching videos, gaming, taking photos and browsing content.
The handset, however, remains a concept and is not currently available for purchase. TECNO has not announced a commercial release date, launch market or pricing for the device.
Beyond the display, the company says technologies developed for the concept cover areas including camera integration, touch sensitivity, sound, structural design and user-interface interaction, which could influence future TECNO devices.
At the Berlin showcase, TECNO also unveiled the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series, marking its entry into 360-degree hinge laptops with touchscreen support.
The series comprises the MEGABOOK T15 360 and T15 360 Pro, which can be used in laptop, tablet, tent and stand modes. Both feature 15.6-inch touchscreens, while the Pro model comes with a 2.5K 120Hz display and 100 per cent sRGB colour coverage.
The company also showcased the MEGABOOK K15S WCL, targeting students and early-career professionals, alongside the 17.3-inch MEGABOOK T17 Ultra for users seeking larger displays and increased processing capabilities.
Its smartphone lineup at the event included the POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition and the CAMON Slim 5G.
The POVA 8 Pro 5G features the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G platform, TECNO’s P1 Graphic Chip and a 5K IceShield Vapor Chamber Cooling System.
The CAMON Slim 5G, meanwhile, is positioned as a photography-focused smartphone, combining a 6.39mm-thin body with artificial intelligence features.
For the Kenyan market, TECNO says the products reflect growing demand for devices that support work, learning, content creation and entertainment.
The company has not yet confirmed Kenya-specific pricing, launch dates or retail availability for the devices showcased in Berlin, saying further details will be communicated once plans for the local market are finalised.
