The IG Douglas Kanja and the director DCI Mohamed Amin are expected in court today Monday to explain the whereabouts of three missing men.
Both police chiefs were ordered to appear in court to state where Michael Oloo and two others are
High Court Judge Alexander Muteti ordered the two security chiefs to attend court to shed light on the disappearances of the three.
Their court attendance was necessitated by the confession of the two top police officers that the three are not in custody of the policeforce.
"I have been instructed by the IG and DCI to inform this court that the three missing men are not in the hands police," submitted lawyer Paul Nyamondi.
This revelation elicited sharp reaction from the Law Society of Kenya and lawyers engaged by families of the three missing men.
Lawyers Abner Mango and Ian Mutiso for the missing person urged the court not to take the words of Mr Nyamondi from the bar but order IG and DCI to appear in court in person to explain themselves where the three missing persons are since they were arrested by armed men and bundled into Subaru cars.
Oloo was arrested after leaving a barber shop where he had gone to have his hair cut.
As a result of the revelation by Mr Nyamondi, activists and relatives exploded staging drama and shouting thereby disturbing court sessions.
After they cooled down, Justice Muteti asked relatives of the missing persons to allow the court to handle the matter.
LSK and families of the missing persons moved to court seeking orders to compel IG and DCI to produce the three in court.
