Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has faulted the County Assembly of Machakos for the budget stalemate and warned that no MCA elected or nominated by the party will be considered again for the position while having been part of the problem.
Mr Musyoka said Governor Wavinya Ndeti was being sabotaged for her firm position in supporting the Wiper Party and urged her to stay put and not succumb to manipulation.
Speaking at his Yatta Farm home where he hosted grassroot leaders from the Mt Kenya region on Saturday, Mr Musyoka said governors in the opposition who had remained loyal to their parties were being targeted and gave the example of Kajiado County governor Joshua Ole Lenku.
"I ask Governor Wavinya to remain firm. We know yesterday Mr Ruto was trying to intimidate Governor Ole Lenku of Kajiado. We know those governors who have allegiance to their own political parties are being threatened," claimed Mr Musyoka.
He thanked other Wiper Patriotic Front elected governors Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) and Dr Julius Malombe (Kitui) for remaining loyal to their party.
"Those MCAs elected or nominated by Wiper and are in the County Assembly and are mistreating their majority Wiper Party government should know that the party will not even look at you twice. They should eat their last," said Mr Musyoka.
He said Governor Wavinya was being fought for initiating a successful Machakos Youth Service programme which was empowering many youths and was perhaps seen as a challenge to the National government own efforts in that sector.
The County Assembly of Machakos scrapped the MYS budget in their amendments which Governor Wavinya has rejected.
The WPF leader said the County Assembly Speaker had 'taken leave of her senses' and did not seem to understand the laws governing the procedures of the Assembly.
Mr Musyoka said according to the NADCO report, counties should by now be receiving not less than 20 per cent of the National budget.
He added that when the United Alternative Government takes over leadership, the County equitable share will be increased to 35 per cent and not the current 15 per cent.
Mr Musyoka also faulted President Ruto for overtaxing Kenyans, adding that taxation must follow ability to pay and not mere desperation to collect taxes.
He said the housing levy must be scrapped.
"There's an assault on the Kenyan taxpayer. The Kenyan taxpayer is under attack. A mama boga, a boda boda rider, a teacher, a young graduate on their first payslip are being asked to carry a load designed for someone else's comfort," said Musyoka.
The leaders endorsed his 2027 presidential bid, noting that throughout his long political career, Kalonzo Musyoka has demonstrated courage, experience, and an unwavering commitment to democracy, service, and the people of Kenya.
"As Kenya looks ahead, this is a time to unite, engage, and embrace leadership that puts the interests of Kenyans first while driving the country towards a more prosperous future," Governor Wavinya who was also in the meeting said.
