Drama erupted in court on Tuesday as Rose Mbithe Mulwa and her son Chris Mulwa claimed that they are being framed so their KES 1.5 billion estate can be grabbed.
Ms Mulwa claimed before Milimani principal magistrate that she cannot access her accounts to withdraw money to pay for medical expenses and running of her everyday life.
She alleged that money has been poured to have them maliciously prosecuted.
Ms Mulwa made unsubstantiated claims that the DCI and DPP have been compromised.
"I did not kill Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso. It is me who educated my former husband Prof David Ndetei upto PhD level. He is now on a wheelchair and with serious health challenges. He is confined to a wheelchair," Ms Mulwa claimed in court
Her son alleged before Milimani Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo that he was threatened by DCI officers to record a statement otherwise they seek orders to have him detained for 60 days.
He claimed that he chose to keep quiet.
"I am an advocate of this court and I am entitled to express myself," Chris told Onsarigo.
He alleged he requires an MRI and cannot access funds due to incaceration.
Defense lawyers Danstan Omari and Katunga Mbuvi asked the magistrate to allow Rose and Chris to explain some issue.
It is then Rose and Chris made damning claims against DPP, DCI and the media.
However, a prosecuting counsel Jalson Makori opposed to the suspects making such defamatory allegations against police and DPP.
Makori told the court if the suspects have issues, let them raise them at the proper forum at the High Court.
Makori closed the miscelleneous file.
In a brief ruling, Onsarigo closed the file and ordered Rose and Chris be presented before Justice Kanyi Kimondo for plea taking.
Makori had earlier told the court that already, a charge has been registered before the High Court.
In the charge, Rose and her two children Chris and Angella are charged with murdering Dr Mutiso.
Rose told Onsaringo she divorced Prof Ndetei 30 years and had amassed a lot of wealth in their years of marriage.
She also claimed she is harbouring political interests in the country's presidency.
Rose and Chris are before Justice Kimondo for directions.
Rose disclosed she single handedly educated her four children-three lawyers and an IT guru.
